  Chapter 1

  Rose

I was glad it was Friday; it had been a long week and I was ready to chill out and relax. I was sitting with my best friend Bonnie in our psychology class and I was trying to stay awake. I’d tried talking to Bonnie but she was concentrating on her work, she took all of her classes seriously as she wanted to be a nurse. I was still unsure on what I wanted to do in the future. My favourite course was photography so I was thinking something to do with that.

“Bonnie… Talk to me, I’m bored.” I whispered to her, looking around to make sure no one heard me. She waved her hand at me, telling me to be quiet. I sat back in my chair and began looking around; I needed something to keep me busy. I was looking around at the guys. Some were hot, but no one made me sit up and take notice. I was seriously starting to think something was wrong with me. I never got the feeling in the pit of my stomach when one of the guys from our year talked to me or touched me. I’d had a relationship with Stuart, the boyfriend I’d had since I was fourteen right up until he left to go away to college, we’d decided it would be too difficult trying to have a long distance relationship. He moved 200 miles away and we’d decided to stay friends. We still talked and texted every so often. It broke my heart when he left and I thought I was in love with him, but after a few months I found that I didn’t miss him as much as I thought I would.

“Thank you all, see you Monday.” Mr. Shipley, our psychology teacher called out, which snapped me out of my day dream. I was going to need to borrow Bonnie’s notes for the test we would have the following week.

“Thank God that is over with… I can’t wait to curl up with popcorn and a DVD tonight.” I told Bonnie as we packed our books away. We all left the classroom and walked outside. I had to pull my jacket off as it was hot, we were having a heatwave and I loved it. I would be spending my weekend on the beach, trying to get a bit of colour on my pasty skin. Bonnie was lucky that she was naturally tanned, all she had to do was be out in the sun for ten minutes and she had the deepest tan.

“We are going to this tonight.” Bonnie told me, as she handed me a piece of paper. I unfolded it and saw that it was a poster.

  “What’s this?” I asked, confused.

“Flix are playing tonight, at The Archer.” Bonnie said, excitedly. She was smiling at me, waiting for me to speak.

“We can’t get into this…” I said, handing her back the flyer. “We’re too young.”

“Not with these.” She said, as she handed me what looked like fake ID.

“Seriously… We can’t use these… My parents will flip if we get caught.” I shoved the ID’s back at her and began walking away.

“Wait…” She called out. I looked behind me and saw her running to catch up with me. “Come on, please… We can stay at mine after. Mum and Dad have gone away to visit Nan and Granddad.” She pleaded with me. I knew I wouldn’t hear the end of it if I didn’t agree. I nodded my head and she threw her arms around me, squealing. I patted her back and told her to calm down and complained that she had burst my ear drum.

“This is gonna be so much fun… What are we gonna wear? Let’s get ready together… I know they won’t question us… It’s bound to be guys on the door and as long as you wear a revealing top they won’t notice anything else.”

“Bonnie!” I scolded her, laughing. She always brought up my breasts; they were a bit bigger than they should be for the size of my body. She laughed at me and we walked to her car.

She was babbling on about what to wear and how much fun it was going to be. I was pre-occupied; we had stopped at a set of traffic lights and I’d noticed a group of guys on the beach. One caught my eye straight away. He looked tall, had dark hair and a body to swoon over. I felt myself getting hot just from looking at him. When the car started to pull away I felt myself sigh ‘I bet I’ll never see him again’. I cleared him from my mind and turned towards Bonnie.

“Oh, we love this song.” I turned up the radio and we began singing loudly and dancing around as much as we could too. I always had fun when I was with Bonnie, we had been friends since I could remember and we were so close that we felt more like sisters. We pulled up outside my house.

“Shall I pick you up later?” Bonnie asked me.

“Yeah, else Mum or Dad may notice that your parents aren’t home if they drop me off.”

  “Good thinking.” She leant over and gave me a quick hug before I climbed out of the car. I waved to her as she sped away. I took a deep breath and hoped that I didn’t give anything away when I had to lie to my parents. I walked in through the front door;

“Hi, I’m home.” My Mum appeared around the corner, wiping her hands on a tea towel.

  “Hi honey, how was school?” I rolled my eyes and said;

“Mum, it’s college… And it was fine; I need to get my stuff ready…” I went to walk up the stairs and she stopped me.

“And where do you think you are going?” She placed her hands on her hips, looking at me.

“Bonnie’s… We’re having a girly night and a sleepover.” I told her, as I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and began looking through it.

“Can you not talk to me and leave your phone alone for two minutes?” She scolded me.

  “Please Mum… It’s been a long week… Please…”

“What are you asking for princess?” My Dad said as he walked into the living room.

“Daddy, Bonnie and I made plans for a girly night. Can I go?” I asked, as I wrapped my arms around his waist.

  “Of course princess…”

  “Pete.” Mum said, sternly.

“What? She has been at college all week, she needs to have some fun.” He told her. I thanked God that my Dad let me do whatever I wanted, well, within reason.

  “She’s only seventeen.” Mum said.

“Honey, she is going to Bonnie’s. She is not going out drinking… Trust her.” Dad said as he kissed me on the top of my head. I looked up at him and he smiled and winked at me. I was starting to feel bad for lying. I was actually going to Bonnie’s, I’d just left out the part about going out and going to a bar.

“Fine.” Mum huffed as she walked away. I smiled at my Dad and ran up the stairs to get my stuff ready.

“Hey, watch where you’re going.” My sister Amelia shouted at me. “What are you in a rush f
or anyway?”

“Nothing, just going to Bonnie’s tonight.” I walked into my room and shut the door. I was not telling my sister what we were up to tonight, the first thing she would do is tell Mum and Dad. I was gathering my clothes together when Amelia came barging in my room.

“I need to borrow your red halter dress.” She demanded. I shook my head. “Why? You don’t need it and there is this party tonight and I’ve been trying to get this guy to notice me. Tonight I’m gonna rock his world.”

  “Eew, Amelia, I don’t need to hear that.” I had already packed my red dress as I wanted to wear it tonight. I told her;

  “I leant it to Bonnie.”

“That’s ok… I will drop you off at hers and get the dress at the same time.” She was always pushy and demanding and she wondered why we didn’t always see eye to eye. It was probably also due to the fact that we were only a year apart in age. Most people say the closer the age gap the closer the siblings, but not in our case. We always argued and I think it was because we were always trying to outdo the other one. I got fed up of the fact that she was prettier than me, smarter than me and she always got whoever she wanted, nothing ever stood in her way.

“No… I said no. Wear your own dress, you got loads.” I walked over to my bedroom door and held it open for her to leave.

“Why do you always have to be a spoilt little bitch?” She sneered at me. I shrugged my shoulders and once she was outside I slammed the door in her face. I took a deep breath. She always knew how to wind me up, but I would not let her ruin our evening. I carried on packing; the sooner I got to Bonnie’s, the better. I sent her a quick text.

  Be ready in 5 x

Cool, be there in 10 x

I grabbed my bag and made my way downstairs. I could hear Mum and Dad in the kitchen so I headed that way. I walked through the door and Mum and Dad were kissing, they were often like that; I loved the fact they were still so in love after being married for almost twenty years. I wanted a love like that, everlasting. I cleared my throat and they pulled apart.

“Oh, hi honey… What would you like for tea?” Mum asked as she pushed my Dad away from her.

“I’m going to eat with Bonnie, she will be here to get me any minute.” I told her, as I pulled out a chair from the kitchen table and sat down.

“When are you going to be home?”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Sometime tomorrow, probably.”

“Well, as you are going out tonight, we can have a family dinner tomorrow… All of us.”

“Amelia will love that.” I scoffed. She went out every Friday and Saturday night without fail and at college she always seemed to be on the arm of a different guy every week. The last thing she would want is a cosy family meal getting in the way of her social life.

“Ok, that’s sorted then… Darling, shall we stay in or go out for some food tomorrow?” Mum turned to ask Dad.

“I think a meal out would be lovely… Shall I book The Fortune Cookie?” Dad asked Mum and she nodded her head. “Rose?”

  “Yeah, that’s fine Dad.”

Beep Beep Beep. A car horn sounded outside.

“Oh that’s Bonnie.” I jumped up, pushed my chair in and gave Mum and Dad both a hug before rushing out of the door. “Love you both.” I called out as I got to the front door.

“Love you.” They both called back, together.

  Chapter 2

“I’m glad you decided to wear your red halter dress, it displays the girls well.” Bonnie said, laughing and staring at my breasts.

“Do you think we will have trouble getting in?” I asked, ignoring her. I wasn’t very confident with my body, and her drawing attention to that part wasn’t helping.

“With me and you dressed like this… Hell no.” I laughed at her as we waited for the taxi to pull up. “It’s here, come on, let’s go.” We both hurried out of the house; we didn’t want to be spotted by any of her neighbours as they were sure to report back to her parents that we had left the house glammed up. We climbed into the taxi and Bonnie asked him to take us to The Archer. He looked at both of us and smiled. His gaze lingered a bit too long on my breasts and he was making me feel uncomfortable. I wondered if that was what I was in for tonight; being ogled and groped by guys. I seriously hoped not.

A few minutes later we pulled up outside the club and there was a small queue forming, luckily it was still quite warm so we didn’t mind having to wait. If it was winter I would definitely have complained.

“Hey, you two.” One of the bouncers called out to us.

“Shit.” I whispered to Bonnie, thinking that we had been rumbled already before we even got to join the line. We both turned around smiling and one of the bouncers crooked his finger as us. We walked over to them. I was trying to show a look of confidence but I wasn’t sure how well it was working for me.

“You two can go straight on in… Enjoy your night.” He winked at us and we smiled back as we walked into the bar.

“See I told you, he was totally staring at your girls.” Bonnie said, dragging me to the bar.

“Well, as long as all he wants to do is look… That’s fine by me.” We sat on a couple of stools by the bar, waiting for the bar man to come and serve us. When he walked over to us he placed two shots down in front of us.

“We didn’t order that.” I told him.

“It’s from Tim.” The bar man told us.

“Tim?” I asked, confused. The bar man nodded his head towards the door and the bouncer was smiling at us. We both picked up our shots and raised them towards him to say thanks, then we gulped them down.

“Fuck.” I cursed. “It’s burning, all the way down… What was that?”

“Sambucca… Let’s get another one.” Bonnie said, as she got the attention of the bar man again. “Can we have two more please and two vodka and cokes.”

“Sure thing, gorgeous.” He replied, winking at her. As we waited for our drinks I turned to look around the club; it was quite busy already and it was still early. Flix were due to be on stage at eight, so we didn’t have to wait too long. Once we had our drinks, we made our way to a small table by the stage. I had noticed a couple of the guys were checking us out, it felt good making heads turn. I’d never experienced that in school as I’d had Stuart and no one else had dared to flirt with me. I never knew why until Bonnie told me that he threatened every guy to stay away from me. Bonnie had always got a lot of male attention.

“Incoming.” I said, as I nudged Bonnie with my leg under the table. I saw two guys approaching us. Bonnie looked at me and I subtly shook my head. I wanted to enjoy my drinks and Flix, without some guy pawing all over me.

“Hi ladies, can we buy you a drink?” One guy asked.

“No thanks, we have drinks.” Bonnie told him.

“Well, can we buy you your next drinks?” The other guy asked, moving closer towards me. As I looked up at him to say no, I noticed he was staring right down my cleavage. I dobted he had looked at my face once.

“Uh, do you mind?” I asked, glaring at him.

“Not at all, do you?” He chuckled at me.

“Ugh, sleeze.” I said, as I got up and dragged Bonnie onto the dance floor.

“Well, if your gonna have them out, be prepared for people to stare.” He shouted after me. It was typical; at the same time he shouted that, the room went quiet as Flix were expected on the stage at any minute. I felt myself go bright red and worried that my face was probably clashing with my dress.

“Don’t listen to him.” Bonnie said, as she pulled me to the front of the stage.

“Now all the guys are gonna wanna dance with me to get a look at my cleavage.” I huffed.

“Don’t be silly… Come on, let’s enjoy this.” I nodded at her and we joined in with the screams when Flix walked out onto the stage. Bonnie nudged me as she pretended to fan herself, she was definitely right; the guys in Flix were hot. I bet they got a lot of attention from girls, and paid them lots of attention in return too.

We stayed out on the dance floor for the whole of Flix’s gig, just stopping to get a drink every so often. I was feeling a buzz and I just wanted to keep dancing. Lots of guys had come up and asked me to dance with them but I’d pushed them all away as soon as I realised they were looking at my breasts and not at me. I glanced at the bar a couple of times and noticed a group of guys standing there laughing and drinking, one had really caught my eye. He was tall and had dark hair, something seemed familiar about him. Every time I looked back towards the bar he seemed to be looking at me. I smiled at him shyly and turned away.

“Hey look at the guys over by the bar…” Bonnie said, as we danced closer together so we could hear each other.

“Hey, keep your eyes off the dark haired, tall one.” I giggled.

“Oh, fancy your chances, huh? I was looking at the blonde surfer one.” I raised my eyebrows in surprise as he was not her normal taste in a guy. She normally went for the bad boy; tattooed and pierced. “Hey, I can go a different way if I want to… Look out, I’m going in.” I giggled again as she strutted towards the guys. I didn’t want to watch them all fall over her, so I turned away and danced by myself. A few seconds later I felt hands on my hips and was pulled up against a hot, muscled body.

“I couldn’t stay away any longer.” His voice was deep and rugged and the butterflies went wild in my stomach as I trembled under his touch. It was time to see if this guy was interested in dancing with me or looking at my cleavage. I turned around and found him looking directly into my eyes. I smiled at him. He pulled me closer to him and we began moving together. We fit together perfectly; he was taller than me but only just when I had my heels on. In flat shoes he would tower above me but I didn’t mind that; I liked my men to be men, some muscles but not too much. He was gorgeous and I bet he had loads of girls after him. I was the lucky one tonight, the one he was dancing with and I was going to make the most of it. I turned around and pressed my bum into his crotch as I ground my hips into him. His mouth was close to my ear and I heard him gasp. He grabbed hold of my hands and pulled them up and around his neck. He placed one of his hands across my tummy and the other was placed on my hip as we danced to the slow beat.
